How STUMP99 works
Four steps, one machine, a posted price. We grind stumps and only stumps, which is why we can quote from a table instead of sending a salesperson to your driveway.

Send the stump
Fill in the form with your city, ZIP, stump count and rough diameter. A photo with a tape measure or a shoe next to the stump helps but isn't required.

Get a firm price by text
We reply with a fixed number, usually the same business day. It's based on the diameter tier plus any extras you asked for — nothing is charged yet.

Pick a slot
Most grinds happen within 2 to 5 business days. You don't need to be home as long as we can reach the stump and the gate is unlocked.

We grind and clean up
20 to 45 minutes for a typical stump. We take it 4–6 inches below grade, rake chips back and tamp them level, or haul them if you asked.
Why diameter sets the price
A grinder removes wood by volume. Double the diameter of a stump and you roughly quadruple the material the wheel has to chew through, plus the depth needed to clear the root flare. That's the whole formula — the height of the tree that used to be there is irrelevant.
Measure across the cut face at its widest point, at ground level, including the flare where the trunk swells into the roots. That number puts you in a tier. If you're between tiers or the stump is multi-trunk, we quote on site before starting.
What can change a price: buried concrete or rock, a stump in a retaining wall, no machine access, or a request to go deeper than standard for a footing or a replacement tree.

What we don't do
Tree removal
If the tree is standing, hire a climbing crew first. We show up after the trunk is down.

We grind, we don't dig out root balls with a machine or truck in fill dirt.

Grinding is mechanical and finished the same day. No months of waiting.
