Charlotte's canopy is mostly willow oak and loblolly pine, and both leave a big stump. A mature willow oak in Dilworth or Plaza Midwood can measure 30 inches at the flare — that's a quoted job, not a $99 job, and we'll say so before we book it.
The $99 price is the door for small stumps up to 12 inches: a crape myrtle cluster, a dead dogwood, a river birch stem. Everything above that is priced by diameter on a menu you can read before anyone comes out.
Piedmont red clay is dense and grinds slower than sandy soil, and it stains everything it touches. We tarp adjacent walkways and patios on request so you're not pressure-washing orange dust off the porch afterward.

Grinding in Charlotte specifically
Willow oak flares
Charlotte's signature street tree buttresses hard at the base. We quote off the widest point, and we tell you that number before scheduling.
Red clay and staining
Piedmont clay dust is orange and it travels. Ask us to tarp your walk, patio or pool deck and we will.
Tight inner-loop lots
Dilworth, Elizabeth and Plaza Midwood have narrow side yards and mature roots. The compact grinder fits a 36-inch gate; note fence gate width in the booking form.
Loblolly pine stumps
Pine is resinous and gums the wheel, so it takes longer, but pricing still follows the posted diameter menu — no species surcharge.
